From Mt Jagged’s breezy, cool site, the 2021 Merlot marries generous fruit with poise. Aromas of ripe black plum, redcurrant and dark cherry lift with violet, bay leaf and a hint of mocha. The palate is medium-bodied and velvety—juicy plum and cherry wrapped in supple, fine tannins and fresh acidity. Subtle French oak adds cocoa and cedar without weighing down the wine. Polished, comforting and beautifully balanced, finishing long and silky.
